09 May How to differentiate cellulite and water retention?
Cellulite is a disorder of the adipose tissue that gives irregularities to the skin, such as depressions or holes; three different stages can occur, ranging from the first, reversible, to the third considered difficult to reverse.
Cellulite is not only a skin blemish, but it is also a real dysfunction, a skin disease that, in the most serious cases, can be really debilitating.
But what is the difference between cellulite and water retention?
In reality, one is the cause of the other. Water retention, in fact, is one of the causes of cellulite but its presence does not necessarily lead to the appearance of the famous orange peel skin blemish. Obviously, both are reversible processes, but to treat them it is good to understand what the differences are and it is important to rely on an experienced beauty center, or aesthetic doctor.
In any case, it is useful to proceed with a correct analysis of the starting situation: this can be done by contact thermography, a particular technology entirely Made in Italy, realized at the outskirts of Milan by IPS s.r.l., which allows to identify the presence of cellulite through the use of special liquid crystal thermographic plates.
It is a system that uses liquid crystal plates which, after being placed on the skin on the area to be analyzed, highlight (through high-resolution color images) the condition of cellulite, classifying it in one of its stages: edematous, fibrous , sclerotic.
Furthermore, contact thermography allows to detect the presence of cellulite even when it is not yet visible to the naked eye or detectable on palpation, in order to act in a preventive perspective.
Once the starting condition has been identified, it is possible to move on to step 2, i.e. a correct diet combined with a healthy and active lifestyle. For this you can contact a good nutritionist who will be able to give you all the necessary dietary indications.
After defining the nutritional aspect, it is advisable to engage in healthy physical activity: attention, however: not all are indicated; for example, in the case of sclerotic cellulite (an aggravated condition), it would be better to avoid intense and long-lasting sport since lactic acid is drained with greater difficulty, worsening the tissue situation and creating greater water retention.
We therefore recommend that you request the advice of a good personal trainer to set up a tailor-made training plan.
